Sato Akiko sat beside her son in the hospital.  She was outwardly calm, but
inwardly distraught, a show of her good upbringing.  Her husband walked into the room,
stone faced.  He was an officer in the JASDF, the Japanese Air Self-Defence Force.
Young Sato Musouka had been hit by a car, and was now in a coma, holding in
critical condition.  His chest moved in and out slightly under the pressure of the artifical
lung that hung beside him.  To all those that could see him he was near death, but on the
inside his mind was reeling.
