I have never known how to start off stories, except at their beginnings, so this is where I shall start this one.  After a long peace and an even longer struggle for power, the country of Thirse was finally at ease.  The evil General Baal was presumed dead, and his minions were dispersed and disarmed.  It all sounds good, and most of it is true.  That is what the people thought, and to the government, that’s all that mattered.
