Now in his 2nd year as music director of the Mapua Institute of Technology Concert Singers, Mr. Frias has had decade-long tenures as music director of the Marian Choir of Cavite leading the group to 2 International Tours, winning awards and recognitions in choral festivals and competitions in Europe, Canada and the United States of America.
Patrick, an alumnus of the San Beda College Chorale became its musical director in 1998. From 2000 - 2001 he has led a 9-member group to its 1st World Concert Tour, winning awards and recognitions in competitions and festivals in Austria and Hungary. Likewise, the group performed in Europe, United States of America and Canada. He served as Artistic committee member at the 1st Choir Olympics held in Linz, Austria in 2000, a gathering of 348 choirs from 62 countries, the biggest organized choral competition in choir history.
As guest conductor of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company � Cavite Exchange, the group emerged as champion besting 11 entries from the different exchanges in Luzon in the annual group singing competition held in Baguio City in 2000. In 1999, he conducted the Fine Arts Department Choir of the College of the Holy Spirit, Manila wherein the all female group won 1st place in its annual Christmas Carol Choir Competition.
From 1997-1999, Patrick became the Director of Music at the Our Lady of the Pillar Seminary Foundation where he conducted the Seminary Choir, an ensemble that has toured throughout North America in 1998 and 1999. In addition, he is Founder and Artistic Director of the Jesus Good Shepherd School Children�s Choir. He has also conducted the Spare of Voices �Manila Pavilion Hotel Choir, Department of Finance Chorale and the Faculty Choir of the Collegio de San Juan de Letran, Manila.
Mr. Frias has prepared choruses for such leading orchestras as the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and Manila Symphony Orchestra II.
In recognition to his contribution to the arts, he was awarded the 2001 General Licerio Topacio Outstanding Achievement Award in the field of Arts and Music by the Municipal Government of Imus, Cavite.
As pianist, conductor and soloist, he has performed in Europe, United States of America, Canada, Mexico and Asia. At home in the Philippines, he teaches piano, organ and voice, some of which he trained and helped win in local competitions. He also arranges and composes, thus making music an integral part of his life. His credentials prove his desire to share his talents and promote musical awareness to his audience - all for the greater glory of God.
