M4A1 RIS Suppressed
As with many other
airsofters, i've watched Tears of the Sun a good amount of times, and I
liked the look of the scout's gun, it was simply a M4A1 with a suppressor
and an aimpoint. The character's name was Lake, and he was the head scout
of the SEAL Team, i thought it interesting that he also carried a Mossberg
shotgun on his back with a full stock! Now thats cumbersome. Anyway this
is a pretty simple job, and i really dont consider it custom or anything.
Im just using my CAR15 gear box and putting it in a SR metal body, upgrading
it to around 350FPS, adding a Marui Pro silencer (5.56mm), no "SOCOM" silencer
for me. Then i'll add an RIS assembly but i dont know if i'll be putting
anything on there, i just like the beefier grip. Finally a Aimpoint replica
will be mounted on the flat top SR receiver.
M16A2 / M203
I got inspired for
this project by a comic "Twilight X" the main character, a SF member, uses
a M16A2 with a M203 grenade launcher, but it has a shortened outer barrel
and a XM177E2 flash hider that begins right after the front sight post.
I always liked the M16A2/203 set up but thought that it looked a bit long
for me, but for whatever reason after looking at the comic version it looks
like it would be just the right length, and of course a big weapon like
this has to be upgraded, probably go for 375 FPS.
Benelli
Instead of going
through pretty much hell to get a real Surefire Foregrip to fit on a TM
Benelli im going for the cheap and easy way. I'm getting a RIS rail and
bolting it on the bottom of the Benelli pump arm, then its a simple matter
of getting a flashlight mount, flashlight, and maybe a pressure switch,
and put that on the rail. I'll finish it off by covering the left over
exposed rail with a RIS rail cover cut to length. Simple huh? Hopefully
it'll look decent and at a glance look like a Surefire foregrip.
