| From: Jodi Sent: Monday, March 19, 2001 To: Mitch Subject: Sam and Zoe Report Here is the Sam and Zoe Report for March 19 -- covering March 17 through present. Sam and Zoe have become very willful. They love playing on the deck but will not stop eating the dirt in the flowerbed. Mommy has said "no" so many times that Sam chants "nonononono" as he approaches. Zoe is fixated on opening the cap to the power outlets. Duct tape will be employed tomorrow. A new favorite game is for Zoe to stick out her tongue while eating food, letting it spill out. Sam is verrrrry amused, which is what motivates her. They laugh and laugh at Zoe's funny. This morning was their 15-month check up. Sam weighed 24 lbs. 15 oz. and was 32 1/2 inches. His percentiles were unchanged from the previous visit -- 50th for weight, just over 75th for height. He would have weighed more except he had not been eating much the past few days due to a nasty bout of teething. He now sports several molars and is working on his canines. His lack of eating was also the likely culprit in a lower than optimal score on his anemia test. Sam received 10.3 with 11.0 being the goal. Dr. P was not worried. Zoe weighed 21 lbs. 15 oz. (25th percentile) and was 31 1/4 inches (50th percentile). Zoe scored a whopping 11.5 on her anemia test. During their visit, we were witness to a clear cut example of how they respond differently to each other. While Zoe received her shots and anemia test, screaming and crying all the while, Sam obliviously sat on the floor reading books. When it was Sam's turn, Zoe watched him with anxious concern as he screamed and cried. More news tomorrow. |
