Im just using their stuff for a little bit of non-profitable fun. Author Notes: These are my drabbles for the X-Men 100 word challenges over at www.livejournal.com. Summary: Depends on the challenge. Email: [email protected] ************************************************************************ June 17, 2003 Challenge: This Week is FREE CHALLENGE week! Sleepless Nights Jean slipped into the garage, frowning at the sight of him bent over the engine of his latest project. She just stood there for a minute watching him before crossing the expanse of the garage. He didnt notice her, the radio drowning out her approach. She ran her hand soothingly up his back, smiling when he startled ever so slightly. Couldnt sleep? She asked softly. Scott bowed his head and closed his eyes, revealing in her gentle touch. Not without you. He whispered. He slowly stood up and turned around, but she was gone and he was once again alone. The End. ************************************************************************ June 12, 2003 Challenge: Whats My Line Week --And what exactly am I supposed to do with a box of bananas? --Her flight left for California at exactly 5:30. --It wasnt the movie that bothered him, but the conversation afterward. --Evolution, he said, is a fickle thing. --Xavier School for the Criminally Bewildered, can I help you? --Morgue, Logan speakin, I stabem and slabem. --Her eyes narrowed and she smirked, Ill let you in on a little secret, evolutions a mean bitch. --You never see the big moments happening, they just sort ofdo. --Looking around, they surveyed the carnage about them, then one ventured a guilty, Uhoops? Moments Seen You never see the big moments happening, they just sort ofdo. Thats what shed heard. But she had seen this in her nightmares, had watched it play out. Logans disappearance, her battle with Scott, Magnetos betrayal, the flooding of the causeway. As she watched the water rushing towards them, fear seized her. She knew what she had to do, but she was afraid, afraid something would go wrong, that they wouldnt understand, especially Scott. She closed her eyes and stole away her fears. There was no other way. After looking back once more at her family, Jean left the Blackbird. The End. Irrational Hope You never see the big moments happening, they just sort ofdo. But he wondered if shed seen it coming. Hed known she was having nightmares, and had tried to help, had tried to get her to tell him what she saw. But shed refused, shielding her thoughts from him so strongly that it felt as if there wasnt a link between them. Now as he thinks back, shed seemed calm in those last few moments, as if she knew what she had to do, and that everything would be ok. And that gave him hope that she really wasnt gone. The End. ************************************************************************ June 5, 2003 Challenge: The challenges for this week are Clichs and Five Senses. We dont expect you to squeeze all Five Senses into one post; one will do just fine. Clichs can encompass anything from your average well-known clich to fandom clichs. Reclaiming Scott buried his nose in Jeans nape, seeking her scent beneath Logans. Shed spent all day with the Canadian, unlocking the reasons Magneto wanted him. She reeked of him, and Scott had the need to reclaim her, despite knowing she wasnt his possession. He ghosted his hands over her stomach and soft breasts, his fingers acting as his eyes, not trusting his control in the throws of passion, even with his glasses. He heard her moan of pleasure at his administrations, as he revealed in the salty taste of her skin and the knowledge that she was his once more. The End. ************************************************************************ May 29, 2003 Challenge: This weeks challenges are: Blue is Beautiful and Dialogue. Blue is Beautiful encompasses drabbles involving characters whose skin/fur is Blue. Dialogue is a challenge in which the drabble is entirely in dialogue. The only non-dialogue words allowed are phrases like he said, Jean muttered, etc At First Sight Are you sure these are going to work? All of the data Ive gathered suggests that this is the best possible solution to our current dilemma. So, in other words, you have no idea. There is always a possibility, as with any scientific experiment, that the hypothesis being tested will not produce the desired outcome. No idea. If I concede that Im not hundred percent certain all will go as planned, may we continue? Just so you know, if I accidentally shoot some unsuspecting plane out of the sky, Im blaming it on you. Duly noted. Wow...youre purple. Blue actually. The End. ************************************************************************ May 27, 2003 Challenge: This Week is FREE CHALLENGE week! You know youve been waiting for it! This is a chance for you to write about whatever you wish. You can even write for past challenges you had snippets for that didnt get posted in time! Grief Scott sat down on the dock, dangling his feet in the water. Hed kept busy, overseeing the repairs to the mansion, working to the point of exhaustion, pushing the pain to the back of his mind. Now, he was left to grieve. Charles had tried to console him, as had Logan. But their words werent enough, and he wasnt sure if anything ever would be again. It all seemed pointless. He wasnt sure how long he had sat there; turning the ring hed never had the chance to give her over in his fingers, crying tears that could not fall. The End. Back to Main Menu |
