Woodcarving: A Balinese tradition

The people from Bali, Indonesia, are known for their exquisite woodworking and handcrafted art work. Shown here is a prime example of Balinese furniture that has been hand carved in the Baroque tradition. As you can see, their culture has been represented in the detail carving, including the mythological Balinese phoenix and blooming Lotus flowers. This furniture is brand new and has never been used.

It took talented Balinese artists approximately 2 years to complete the set of furniture which includes:

  • 3 single seat, high backed chairs
  • 1 three-seat, high backed settee
  • 1 intricately carved cocktail table
