Mr. Pepys is named for the English diarist of the 17th (?) century, Samuel Pepys (pronounced PEEPS).  His previous owner named him, and I know not why he is named that, but it is an amusing name.  He is large, but also overweight.  He has being-hungryphobia, which is different from fear of hunger: it is the fear of becoming hungry.  That's my explanation for his constant eating.  Lucy, his previous owner, says one day she called her cats in for food, and Pepys went in the door with them, straight to the food bowl, and her never left.  She says he was a kitten, making him seven or eight or nine now, but his vet says he's eight or nine or ten, judging by his teeth.
Back Home
We adopted Isabel in June of 2000, and she was born in April of that year.  She is a long, thin classic tabby going on--wow--FOUR years old.  She still looks like a kitten.  And acts like one.
We got Finn from the Humane Society at some special thing they have at the Detroit zoo every year three years ago.  He was three years old in March, I believe.  The Humane Society told us he was part Husky, part Rottweiler, part Doberman, and part German Shepherd, but he didn't turn out big enough for them to have been exactly right, but I believe the Husky.  We think he might be part Collie.  He's special and he likes Jack a lot.
