4/16/05
It's been an even longer amount of time than it had been between the last updates.  Wow, like two months.  Two months and one day.  Cer-a-zy.

Midwinter break ended up just being U of M, then four of us saw Oberlin on a Saturday, and Spring Break was dominated by a trip to New York City.  Only one evening and one full day in the city, though, which was sad.  I don't know what that trip's catchphrase was, but as soon as I remember there'll be a page on it.  Time permitting, of course.

Other than that, I don't know what there is to note.  Oh, this update is taking place on the Mac Mini we got...and my whole family got cell phones right before New York, and I got my (basically) sole birthday present three months early: a digital camera.  It's awesome.  But this site doesn't like pictures much, maybe I'll put them up on one of those picture-keeping sites.

My French person that I will be staying with for 5 1/2 days emailed me, which is pretty cool.  Her name's Lucie and her family's going to take me to one of the most beautiful beaches in France, La Baule (La cote d'amour?  I think it's sometimes called.  Ooh, summer lovin'.  Haha, right.)

These past two weeks of glorious, unending spring have caused me to so embrace procrastination, it's amazing.  Walks at least once a day, and leaving everything to just past the last minute.  And I don't even feel guilty anymore.  That much.

So yeah, this is an update.  And I got a livejouranl, but anyway, that's not interesting to whatever random people read this because of who knows what. (If any random people do read this, please sign the guestbook, it'd be entertaining.)

It's been a very long time. Wow. Anyway, it's Midwinter Break now, and I should be visiting colleges. My dad wants to go see Kenyon, Oberlin, maybe Denison, University of Chicago, Northwestern, and U of M. I'm only interested in University of Chicago of those, and U of M...I guess...because it's cheaper and that's where I'll probably end up. Of course, I was too busy the past couple weeks/sick, and didn't contact colleges, so I can't go to some of them or else can't speak privately with the people. Oh well, I don't really care.

I don't know of anything interesting to say. Yesterday was like a miracle, it was so warm and nice and it was just wow. I kept thinking ridiculous things while walking home like "This is like life!"...whatever that means.

I kind of want to do the summer Columbia thing, but it starts the EXACT day I fly back from France. And there's no financial aid available, so...that's very problematic. It would take up the majority of July, too. I don't know. I've nothing to say.

And when it
snows again
We'll take a walk outside
And search the sky, like children do...

1/2/05

Break's almost over and I can't say I'm altogether very happy about that (of course!) but that's okay.  The school year's just about half done, and so it feels like we're nearing the end.  Crazy, I know, to be feeling like this so early, but I do.

Vacation was not as blissfully happy as I could have hoped, and it was lacking in most of the things that make the Christmas season for me (Christmas tree before Christmas, lots of new fantasy books to read...) but in spite of EVERYTHING there was still a lot of fun.

CHICAGO was so much fun, and we went ice skating again, I saw a movie with Sarah and Rachel and Ali, which was exciting, I got an iPod, there was the poker which was great fun and Garden State which was a marvelous movie.  I think, in a way, it looks better 'marvellous' like it's sometimes spelled.  I had fun with my cousins on Christmas, fun with the Geyers just existing over there, and on New Year's Eve, at least I discovered I could afford a cell phone if I wanted one and Emma and I found a webcam of the Faroe Islands.  I actually did my homework early, some of it, and I spent some high-quality time with Mr. Pepys.  Ali and I created a new book character who is quite interesting.  Painting Chelsea's room was a lot of fun.  I got paid time off, apparently.  I get to see the new library tomorrow evening!  And I had fun with my cousins again today.

Life is beautiful and I love it, and if years are usually succeeded by better years (which they are in general) then 2005 is going to be the best yet!
