She lifted her head
And opened her eyes
Life stood before her
And fed her with unwanted lies She wanted to end her life
Before it slowly killed her inside
But it took all her strength
Just to control the tears she cried
Now, she's tearing at the flesh
Making herself bleed
Just to prove she's alive
The scarred wrists is all I need
To know that she is hurting
Her eyes plead for help
And I see the pain
But there's nothing I can do
Her empty breaths choke her heart
Drowning in a sea of fear
There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, no today
She sinks into herself, giving into the pressures of life
Gingerly she touches the fresh razor cuts
Tracing her old scars
Her world is clouded with shadows of sorrow
Today dies and brings the dreaded tomorrow
The cold arms of sadness pulls her where depression kills many
Her beauty lies in her deeply hidden scars
Her blood, staining the white carpets
Like early misted dawn foreshadowing the sun
I wait for her, to dry her tears, and cover up those scars
She cries inside like a frightened child
Afraid to open up
Who will cry for me?
Not I
She died tonight...
Because no one cared
