A photograph of a memory, almost forgotten.
The colors faded and the corners curled,
The picture although aged, hasn't changed
But the people in the photograph have
The people always change
The smiles are eternally fake and surreal
Souls have died and hearts have been broken
Memories are hidden in a latch-box case
The image is now meaningless
Friendships have been lost and found
And some have been [forgotten forever]
In a fury of whirlwind recollections and secrets
Hopes and dreams have been shat.tered and gained
Tears have been shed, the laughter has died
Your memories will continue to haunt you
Of all your wasted time
Faces will stare from vivid pictures
Of the life you left behind.
Though years have passed by, you remember it
Just like it was yesterday and if only you could
Just turn back time and fix all you had done wrong
Maybe the picture wouldnt have faded
And maybe the smiles would have been real
The friendships would still be there,
Along with the lingering memories
And all the time that has passed you by,
All the emotions that have gone astray,
The consequences from every single move you made
Are now forgotten in a photograph of a memory.
