Seventeeth Birthday

Sitting in the back of your truck under the glowing sky, you get up from holding me. As I turn around holding our beers, you turn the radio all the way up. Out the back window, I see you smile right at me. My favorite song was on, Champagne Supernova. Coming back to me, you lay me down next to you, hand in hand. Next I feel your hand in my hair and you saying, "We'll never die, you and I.". And I believed him, because no one else I knew had what we have. As the night dies off, it gets a tad bit colder. Giving me your jean jacket, I feel safe. We're in our own little world while the real one fades away. Always on my birthday we came here, to this spot in the woods where no one knew of. But this year was different, you eightteen and I seventeen now. Drinking our beers and feeling great. Every year it gets only better. Last year you got your licence. And the year before, you met me. As the song still plays on, I get dizzy. Think I had one too many beers celebrating being seventeen. Passed out on you, you carry and place me on the seat. Driving away, I can hear you talking to me, as if I was awake. How sweet you are. Two hours later, waking up to the smoke of your cigarette burning, I see that we're infront of my house. "Hey there birthday girl. We've been sitting here for hours. I was wondering when you were gonna wake up from your dreams." you said to me. "Why didn't you wake me up? And what time is it?" I ask. Looking on your cell phone, "It's 2 AM, and I didn't wake you up because you look even more beautiful sleeping on my lap." you say. Smiling, I was glad. It was late, and so you get out and open my door, carring me to my house. "Hope you had a grand seventeenth birthday you wild one." you say to me. "I did, and thank you." I said back to him with a kiss goodnight.
