My Sunset

To look in your eyes again would burn all the pain away. Never thought I'd say this, but I do love you. When I look right at the sun, I put my hand up and spread my fingers out. The glow from the sun on my face reminds me of your twinkling brown eyes, how beautiful you are. You are my sunset, you make me warm and safe. But just when I think the sun is still there, I turn to my left and look out my door. The sun is gone. My sunset is gone. And sadly, you are gone too. As cold as it may seem, that's how you left. Still staring into the sky, the light turns a bright red. But you are still there, my sunset. I miss you baby, come back and sing it to me. Come back my sunset, the beautiful brown eyes you got. Come back to me.
