I Saw Death

It was after my father's mass that I realized how he died... Death came and filled his head with ideas. I was only a child when it happened. A child that no one would pay attention to, even it was for their own good. When the mass ended, everyone got up to leave. I was walking down the asile; holding my mothers' hand as I turned around to look at the casket one last time. She was crying so much, I didn't know what to do... While looking at the casket, I saw Death, with his black cloak on and white face. I saw Death, trying to make my mother stop and see him too, but all I recived was a slap in the face. Many years have passed. I was now 17. No other kids knew what it was like without a father in the house. All those 13 years, gone now and forever. It was today that was his death. After school, I drove to his headstone. I stopped the car. Still in my car, looking at a distance at my fathers' headstone, I saw Death. But what surprised me was that he was putting flowers down on his headstone. I saw Death, the one who told my father that suicide was the way out... I saw Death, again. I got out of my car and Death was gone. Tears in my eyes, how I hated him so much. Walking over to the headstone, I looked at the flowers. There was a small card between the flowers, a note. As I read it, I dropped it, screaming. "My dear beloved, how I miss and long to hold you in my arms. Someday you will understand and know why my presence is not with you now. I'll see you soon.." Someday, Death will see; for what he's done to me.
