Letter to Congressmen and Congresswomen
After I mailed out this letter to friends and family, I recieved several emails back from people that I do not know saying they liked what it said and agreed with me. Some even said I should run for office. I do not believe that I am qualified yet to hold an office of that statute, but do believe that we should speak up and voice our opinions. This letter may have fallen on deaf ears up top, but at least I can say I tried to communicate with the Nations Leaders, to include the President and vice- President.

Congressmen and Congresswomen:

I am writing and emailing each of you as a concerned U.S. Citizen and right now, I am afraid to say that I am ashamed to be a US Citizen.
We, the peoples government and those of us who elected you, are in a crisis in this nation. We have allowed the oil companies, stock holders and OPEC to control our current governments to the extent that when we have had a national disaster that we raise prices of fuels and oils to keep the stock holders happy- to include several of you- instead of keeping supplies and the overall economy active!
I am sorry but there should have been a cap on the oil companies long ago! Up until recent years, the power and phone companies were capped or regulated , but NOT THE OIL COMPANIES!!
The American dream is dying and for what reason---- to appease the stock holders???
Sure interest rates is low but what good is that when people are paying $3.00 to $5.00 a gallon in gas, buying what food they can and not purchasing the extras we all use to get. Trips become nothing but a days worth of tasks; companies loose workers or close completely or even yet, strikes occur.  Eating out becomes what it used to beA LUXUARY!!  Phone calls become limited and fairs, circuses and even theme parks close down because they cost too much to operate- (remember Opryland!!), malls close down because stores leave.
IS ANYONE LOOKING AT THE EFFECT JUST OIL HAS ON THE ECONOMY????
Oil stocks are NOT AND SHOULD NOT be so high that we can not cap them and regulate them. There is not reason gas has to cost this much.  People will start buying just what they need and household recycling will come back. Reusing foil and those plastic butter tubs will be again like it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s, which means overall stocks will be down and the recession we think we are in will get very bad- Very Fast!
If any of you that own any stocks would take a temporary hit from your profits, things would start to improve. Sports heads and actors could take a pay decrease too for a while; else the games and movies they so like will not pay out the way they want because people will not be able to afford it.
The American Dream in Dead when the rich are getting richer and the every one else just looses.  Honestly, why someone needs to make $100,000 a year to live is beyond me. You are CIVIL SERVANTS just like firefighters and police officers and they do not earn that.  High ranks in the military do not need that either since most of them do not put their lives on the line like junior and senior enlisted and junior officers.

Where did our priorities go wrong?? And, Why havent any of you, who care about your votes, done anything about it?

Sincerely,
Misty Twilley
