The style of a Mord-Sith
Hair pulled back into a loose braid.
Sheathed in leather from neck to ground, cut to fit like a glove.
Blood-red leather. The only deviation from the blood red
of it was a yellow crescent and star across the stomach.
The only clothes a Mord-Sith wears is head-to-toe leather, except
when traveling or sleeping, or other instances when they are not "on duty".
There are 3 colors of leather to wear -
red, brown, and white.A Mord-Sith will wear her red leather outfit when she is training her pet or
fighting (or anytime she will be getting blood on her clothes).
The leather is red so that blood will not be seen on her outfit.
It is also known that anyone who seeds a Mord-Sith wearing her red leather,
knows that as a warning to stay away from them. It is worn when they were of a mind to dispense discipline.
The brown leather is her neutral color. She is not in "training mode". She will wear
brown when she knows she will not be shedding blood anytime soon.
It is her normal clothing when she has no pets, and no business to attend to.
She can still protect and guard her Lord Rahl, but she doesn't expect to shed blood when she is dressed in brown.
White leather - A gesture that shows that her pet is broken, and had been
taken as a mate, and that to show her power over him she chose not to make her pet bleed.
The back of the gloves are armored, even the fingers.
The Agiel hangs from her wrist on an elegant gold chain.
Quotes from the novel:
"The four women, covered from neck to toes in closely tailored bloodred leather displaying the yellow star and crescent of the Mord-Sith at their stomachs, carried their Agiel in fists swathed with armor-backed, red leather gloves." - Blood of the Fold, chapter 9, pg. 95, pp edition
"Cara sat back on her hands. 'Is the queen pretty?' Her mischievous smile returned. 'What does she look like? She won't try to make us wear dresses once you're married, will she? We'll obey her, but Mord-Sith don't wear dresses.'"
