| Grego, is a local Detroit Artist who has a small privately owned gallery at 5500 Cass. I came across his gallery when I was with my friend Nette in the beginning of the 2002 fall semester, on our way to get some lunch at Harmonie Garden a restaurant near campus. There were decorations outside on some of the trees, like ribbons and there was this metal scultpure robot type thing out near the corner of the apartments, so I stopped. I really liked the metal guy, so I spotted the " Gallery open", sign, but it appeared as if it were closed. Nette and I went down the steps leading to the entrance door, but then the " Gallery open ", sign fell on my leg. Was this an omen? Nah, well Grego came out finally and when we told him about the sign he was very kind and gentile ( say it like " Gen-teeeel" not " gent-aisle" nor " gen-till") about it. So we checked out his gallery and he had no worries showing us around. So we visited him again during the winter bringing both our "significant others" as Nette informed Grego. We all had a good time. So I dedicate this section to Grego. I support you mister. =) |
