The Atha'an Miere are a Sea fairing people. We are also a people with a very strict hierarchy.
The Ranks
The Mistress of Ships is somewhat like a queen except that she is chosen by the clan Wavemistress. She holds the job for life but the title does not pass to her daughters. She is aided by the Head Windfinder which is usually the Windfinder that served her before.
The Head Windfinder has authority over all other Windfinders.
The Mistress of Ships also appoints the Master of the Blades. The Master of Blades is usually her old Cargomaster. He has authority over all the Swordmasters. He is also responsible for the security and defence of the Atha'an Miere.
The Wavemistresses are the leaders of the diferent clans of the Atha'an Miere. She is chosen by all the Sailmistress in the clan.
The Clan Windfinder is usually the same Windfinder as the Wavemistress had before she was given the honor of leading her clan. She has authority over the Windfinders in her clan.
The Swordmaster is usually the Wavemistress former Cargomaster. He has autority over all the cargomasters in the clan.
The captains of our Ships are all female. They are called Sailmistresses. The Sailmistresses are assisted by Windfinders. They are also all female. Their job is to navigate. Where and when the Ship sails is up to the Sailmistress. How the Ship gets there is up to the Windfinder.
The Sailmistresses are also assisted by Cargomasters. The Cargomasters are male. Whereas the Sailmistress decides where to go and the Windfinder decides how to get there. The Cargomaster decides what to do while they are there. All trade for the Ship is decided by the Cargomaster.
The Crewmen are the veteran members of the crew who have not been given a higher position yet.
The Deckhands are the newest members of a Ship's crew.
The Dragonmount Atha'an Miere Ranks
Aside from all the normal Ranks there are a few that are particular to Dragonmount.
The Apprentice is just one step away from becoming a Sailmistress, Windfinder, or Cargomaster.
The Mistress of Deckhands is in charge of all the Deckhands, Crewmen, and Apprentices. It is her job to welcome them and assign them to a Ship and classes. It is also her job to punish those who are caught doing something that they are not supposed to be doing.
The RP Advisor is in charge of all the RP in the Atha'an Miere org. She is also in charge of aproving character bios.
