BAZI TEA
Very aromatic tea brewed fresh from Bazi leaves. Served hot & heavily sugared; traditionally drunk 3 tiny cups at a time, in rapid succession. Served upon a tray, three tiny cups, bowls of yellow and white sugars, tea pot, tea leaves. After sugaring the tea in the cup, you offer it up to the Master, when He is done with that cup, you prepare the next and so forth. . Some Masters or Mistresses may expect the kajira to take each cup as He or She empties it. A Bazi Tea ceremony called "The Ceremony of the Three Stages of Life" three cup serve has been referred to but unable to find the actual quote for it so far.Tea is extremely important to the nomads. It is served hot and heavily sugared. It gives them strength then, in virtue of the sugar, and cools them, by making them sweat as well as stimulating them. It is drunk three small cups at a time, carefully measured.
From Tribesmen of Gor, pg 38"With a tiny spoon, its tip no more than a tenth of a hort in diameter, she placed four measures of white sugar, and six of yellow, in the cup; with two stirring spoons, one for the white sugar, another for the yellow, she stirred the beverage after each measure."
Tribesmen of Gor. p 89'Is it ready?' I asked. I looked at the tiny copper kettle on the small stand. A tiny kaiila-dung
fire burned under it. A small, heavy curved glass was nearby, on a flat box, which would hold
some two ounces of the tea. Bazi tea is drunk in tiny glasses, usually three at a time, carefully
measured."
Tribesmen of Gor, page 139Hot Bazi Tea I wanted. This is an important trade item in the north. I know knew why. The southern sugars are also popular. I had originally supposed this was because of their sweetness, there being few sweet items, save some berries, in the north. I know began to suspect that the calories of the sugars also played their role in their popularity.
From Beasts of Gor, pg 206There was a cup and a pitcher of Bazi tea on the counter. Bazi tea is a commone beverage on Gor. Many Goreans are fond of it.
Kajira of Gor. P 332One Cup Tea Serve
1. go to the fireplace to check and see that the water is boiling.
If there is not enough water, refill the kettle and heat the water.
2. go to the shelves and get a clay teapot, a cup, spoons and serving tray as well as any sugars or milk
desired, placing the items upon the tray you got as you gather them.
The cups are small and delicate.
The pots hold about 6 cups and are also delicate.
3. take the pot to the kettle and fill it.
4. take the pot to the counter and carefully measure of bazi tea leaves and place upon the tray
5. take the tray to the Freeperson.
6. Pour a cup of the tea so that the Freeperson can see the contents, sniff and look at the color to be
certain it is fully brewed, adding now the sugar or cream/milk they desired and serve it to the Them.
(notes....... if adding sugar use a separate spoon for each sugar type, here you may offer a prayer
and to taste for poisons as you would in any other serve, some Masters like You to taste for
poisons others don't).
7. A 2 girl serve can be done with tea as it is with blackwine
~~still seeking quotes for the three cup ceremony where the meaning of the cups are concerned, so unsure how they relate to the scrolls of John Norman but this serve/ceremony is sometimes asked for so the information available is provided here also and will be confirmed if possible with quotes.~~
Traditional 3-Cup Bazi Tea Ceremony (unconfirmed in quotes other then bazi tea is served in three small cups)
1. go check the hot water kettle at the fireplace, add more water and heat if needed.
2. go to the cubboard, get a fine clay teapot, 3 tiny cups, and the small tin container of bazi leaves.
3. placing them on a black and red lacqued serving tray kept for this purpose, then fill the teapot with
the boiling water, and fetch small bowls of yellow and white sugars and spoons for each.
4. bring the tray to the Master, kneels in nadu and sets the tray before you so He can view the

a herbal bouquet, the leaves will settle to the bottom of the cup or the leaves can be added to the
clay pot to make a whole pot of tea instead of cup by cup. If you add the tea leaves to the clay pot
pour one cup out to show the Master the if it's brewed to His satisfaction and then pour it back,
re-pouring a fresh, hot cup to be served to Him.
6. add yellow sugar to the first cup
7. let the water dissolve the sugar or stir it gently to dissolve it, then set aside the tea making supplies,
(taste the tea for poisons to ensure Master's safety if He desiresbut ask first) and hold up the the
small cup, offer it to the Master with a prayer showing this cup signifies "the bitter fruits of life"
9. take the empty cup from the Master and prepare the next
9. repeat steps 6-8 but adding white sugar this time instead of yellow sugar, this second cup signifies
"the contentment of adulthood"
10. again repeat steps 6-8 adding yellow and white sugar both, this cup signifies "the enlightenment
that comes with experience and old age"
Meaning of each of the cups and progressive sweetening

in otherwords be yourself***Master: do you know bazi tea, kajira?
kajira: of course, Master ;)
Master: Then, bazi tea, please.
kajira: yes, Master as You desire
kajira rises and sets serenely across the Hall, centering her spirit to do the most peaceful and beautiful ceremony for the Master's pleasure...her steps measured and precise, marked only by the soft swish of silk and the mournfully sweet cry of the golden slave chimes sounding at her slender ankles....kajira reaches the servery and bends to take up the red and black lacquered tray, setting the kettle onto boil and gathering the three hand thrown urthenware cups, their beauty lying in their very simplicity and the uniqueness of the loving handcrafting.....
kajira gathers the pots of white and yellow sweet powders and the pot of bazi tea leaves, and the small strainer to pour the tea through....she takes up the boiling kettle and adds the tea leaves to the pot, pouring the boiling water in the elegant matching tea pot, also crafted by loving hands.....
kajira sets it all to the lacquered tray and turns to Master, lifting the tray to her lithe hip, she moves back to Him, her spirit soaring and feeling blessed to be able to perform the sacred ceremony for this Master, she holds so fondly...
kajira lowers gently to her knees before the Master, setting the tray to her side, she pours the first of the three cups, the strong and aromatic tea swirling up and arousing her senses, the peace of the ceremony washing over her spirit....she adds the yellow sweet powders, stirring gently with a slender reed to blend, lifting the small cup to her lips, and leaving a sweet lingering kiss upon the rim, offering it up to Him over her bowed head, and whispering the ritual offering....
kajira: Master, this kajira offers You the first of the bazi cups, representing the joy and discover and waste of youth....the making of life long friendships, the discovery of words and sights to behold in the world around You, and the lack of wisdom to enjoy and appreciate the awesome things You learn, she offers it lovingly, with the hopes her serve and the tea bring peace to Your soul this day...
Master accepts the first cup offered by the lovely kajira, while smiling at her...looking into her lovely eyes...
Master: Your service, thus far, has been lovely, as are you.
Master quickly empties the first cup, remembering his youth of long ago.
kajira smiles softly and awaits the Master drinking of the tea holding her hand out to take the cup from His hands gently.....
Master hands the cup back..
kajira takes the cup and sets it upside down to the tray, pouring the second cup through the small strainer and adding the white sweet powders, she stirs it gently, breathes a sacred blessing upon it and tenderly kisses the rim, offering it up to Him and whispering the second of the ritual offerings......
kajira: Master, kajira offers You this second of the bazi cups, representing the great joys of adulthood, the taking of life partners and issuance of children born of love, the camaraderie of sharing stories and experiences with Your Brothers after long days of battle, and the warmth of a slave to comfort and please You.....she offers it lovingly, hoping her service and the tea brings happiness in spirit to You, this day…..
Master accepts the second cup....
Master: kajira, this Master continues to be amazed at your grace...
Master quickly drinks the second cup of tea, considering his present condition...and returns the cup to kajira.
kajira smiles and takes the cup from His hand, setting it gently upside down to the tray.....
kajira takes up the pot and strains the third cup of tea, adding both the yellow and white sweet powders, and stirring it gently.....she raises it to her heart praying softly and then to her lips, kissing the rim sweetly and offering it up, whispering the third of the ritual offerings.....
kajira: Master, a girl offers You this, the third cup of bazi tea, representing the wisdom and peace of becoming older, the watching of Your children reach adulthood, the enjoyment of visiting with lifelong friends, the peace of knowing Your battles were well fought and You may now savour the peace of Your victories....she offers it to You lovingly, in hopes that her serve and the tea wash Your heart in joy, this day.....
Master accepts the last cup....
Master: kajira, your serve has also served my life before my eyes...some good, some not so good, but all memorable...
Master quickly drinks the third cup of sweet tea...
Master returns the cup...
Master: your service honors My Home and your training, Thank you,, little kajira. You are released from my service with my thanks again.
kajira smiles softly and reaches up to tenderly accept the last of the cups, setting it back to the tray, rim down, she bends at her small waist to rain kisses over His feet, in respect and reverence, and joy at being permitted to perform the lovely ceremony for Him, this day....she rises elegantly and backs quietly from His feet, returning to the servery and washing and replacing the implements of the serve......
