| MATH CLUB - two teams (red and blue) entered the Nazareth High School Math competion. The Blue Team finished 1st in the small school division and Angela Korabic finish 1st in the individual competion.The Blue team consisted of Angela Korabic, Natalie Crisanti, Gina Watylyk, John Keen, and Thomas Szydlo. The Red team consisted of Samantha Wilcox, Michael Klean, Gina Minella, James Johnson, and Josephine Krajniak. The alternates were Kevin Garvey and Daniel Golden. | St. Louise will have a Math Club again this year. The goal of the Math Club is to challenge students and peak their interest in mathematics by presenting math concepts above and beyond the existing curriculum. Let me first assure you that the Math Club will in no way alter the existing pre- Algebra or Algebra curriculum, and all 8th grade students will cover the same topics. Club members will investigate interesting topics outside the normal curriculum. Club membership is being offered to all 8th grade students and is strictly voluntary. Since the club will cover topics outside the curriculum, it should not be considered a place for students to obtain help. Help is always available upon request. The Math Club will meet once a week before or after school, and there will be no grade or homework. The object is to have fun, to investigate interesting math topics, and to give those that enjoy math a place to enhance that enjoyment. | |||||||||||||||||
