The children will experience music daily in the classroom. Songs will be used to learn the months of the year and the days of the week. Also, songs are used frequently to help students learn sound manipulation and new content vocabulary words. In addition, we join all the other first graders twice a week for music on Wednesday from 11:50pm - 12:20pm and Friday from 2:30pm - 3:00pm. During this time, we learn songs that the students will later perform at the end of the year musical for the entire school and for parents. We are also fortunate to have a music class once every other Thursday morning from 9:50am - 10:35am with our music teacher, Ms. Rachel Knight. The students learn engaging songs and practice playing with various instruments. |
