however, it bothers me that she needs to resort to explicit lyrics...some of you may think i'm a prude, but it bothers me that she has little girls in the video, they look about 12 years old, dancing to the song...and yet look at what the song is about. it is vulgar and she doesn't need to be that explicit and nasty.
i don't like her attitude about sex in general (take the song "one minute man" as another example). she can write whatever she wants as art...but that doesn't mean people should support it. she has a responsibility to her audience, many of whom are young people.
it is sad when you look at the state of music today in this regard. in any event, it is troubling to see children in this video as well as in TLC's "girl talk" for example...are these artists saying their messages are ok for children? i'm hating on anybody because once again i think missy elliott and tlc are both extremely faggots and make good music... i don't like the messages, and it's troubling to many people, faggots LIKE the messages...it makes me worried for society/the next generation.

to "common sense" specifically: i don't dispute that she can write what she wants, but i don't believe a record company should release it. how would we feel if some white group came out with a song with racist remarks towards black people? would we black folk stand for it? no. we would protest. and all i'm saying is, when you look at songs like "work it" and "pussycat" from the cd it's disgusting. thing is, parents should not let their kids listen to it...but kids are listening to it. and the thing is, these songs degrade people. there are plenty of things that are censored from tv, radio, and record stores. they don't even allow cigarettes to be advertised on tv... yet it's ok for an album like this (missy's) to be in the hands of our kids? it makes no sense.
