Dear Peer Pressured,

Okay, let's define what a Christian is.  If you are a Christian, you have given your heart to God, confessed your sins, and accepted Jesus as your savior. OK, you've done that?  Good.  Now, it is NOT a requirement to be baptised in order to get into heaven.  Those things above are the only requirements.  So you ARE a true Christian if you firmly believe your prayer that you prayed to become a Christian and you said the prayer whole-heartedly.  However, I do think that being a true servant of Christ and being baptised are good.

Baptism or confirmation, depending on your denomination, are telling the world that you are a Christian and a follower of Christ.  That's all its saying.  Now, while good works won't GET you into heaven as your friends said, being a true and loyal servant to Christ is good because it: A) can be an example to non-Christians and B) shows that you love God.

Your Bible teacher is right.  You do NOT have to go to church to be a Christian. That's what many people believe. However, church is a good way to show that you love God and want to learn more about him.  You are also giving God worship and praise by going to His house.

Take these things into consideration and make the decision yourself.

Miss Weird,

I am a christian, but I don't go to church and I haven't been baptised. So I'm not excatly a true christian. All my friends say that if I don't become a true and loyal servant to my Heavenly Father, I won't go to heaven. But my bible teacher says, that I don't have to go to church just to be a christian. I can praise and thank the Lord at any given time. But I still can't stand the pressure from my peers. Do I have to please my peers by doing what they say or is the way I am right now OK too?
