| Dear Not Faithful Enough, God will DEFINITELY slip His hand in yours and walk with you. In fact, that's what he wants to do right now. He wants to help you. Its good that you are doubting. Its a way to make your faith be more real to you and so you KNOW its true. You had a lot of questions in your entry. I suggest that you go to a pastor and ask him/her, since they would know more than I would. Still, I'll answer a few of them myself. Have you ever read the poem, "Footprints"? If you haven't, I would go look it up on the Internet. Its very popular and I find it everywhere. Check it out. First of all, God doesn't punish you because he loves you. God TESTS you because he loves you. In James 1:2-4 it says, "Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything." In this verse, it says that God tests your faith so that you may grow and become closer to him. I don't consider that punishing us. True, we'll go through hard times, but I believe that it draws us closer to Him and that its a good thing overall. The trial and tribulation would be worth it. You said you have sinned so many times that you don't have the courage to talk to God. Remember that God doesn't view you any less because you have sinned. You are His creation and you are special to him. But he wants you to live for Him so you can draw others closer to him so that they may go to Heaven to. We are a city on a hill. Everyone is watching us. We need to be living examples of Christ to the people. About all of your questions on how the Bible is true and if Christianity is proven, read the books "The Case for Christ" and "The Case for Faith." Both are by Lee Strobel. They are very good books. If they are too long for you, you can check out the student versions. Both are really good books that I highly recommend. Any further questions, email me. Miss Weird |
| Miss Weird, Does God ever give up on me? I have heard He is a merciful and forgiving God. But I also hear that He must punish because He loves us so much. What does it feel like to be cleansed pure? Does Jesus use His blood or what? What does it mean to be cleaned whiter than snow? I have sinned so many times I don't think I have the courage to talk to God and ask Him to forgive me. But after all I have heard about Him, I don't know what to believe. How do people know He is a holy, living and breathing God? That we were made in His image? That it took Him a week to create the universe? And that He has fiat power? How do people get this stuff? Has it proven that the Bible is actually true? My family is all Christian, but I never know if I should take the narrow path. Even if I do, I don't think I would have the faith to go all the way to His salvation. If God loves me as much as the heavens are above the earth, would He slip His hand in mine and walk with me?
