| Dear Afraid...VERY AFRAID!, I can understand why you are nervous about high school. High school is a new era in your life and is a time with a lot of pressures and, as you are worried about, homework! I suggest you give this problem and nervousness up to God. He can help! Pray! Isaiah 41:10 says, "Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I with strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." High school doesn't have to be scary. You can also ask an older sibling, if you have one, to give you the heads up on what to expect. If you don't have an older sibling, ask your parents. Though their view is a little bit outdated, I'm sure they can give you information that will be helpful. Just remember to be ready for anything and always be prepared. If you get a lot of homework, get ready to make some sacrifices so you have more time to work on it. If they teachers are mean, deal with it. Try to work around the teacher's "meanness" and focus on what you are supposed to be learning. If you think you are going to get lost, bring a map of the school and keep it handy until you are familiar with the school campus. Remember, though, there is no need to be afraid! High school is supposed to be the best four years of your life! Make them the best! Miss Weird |
