My name is Sylvie Font and I'm native of Perpignan, a small town in the south of FRANCE. I'm now 37 and as far as I can remember I have always either pencil drawn or oil painted.
In the late 80's I had an opportunity to buy a pack of FIMO clay and I made a small doll. I couldn't explain why this idea came to me, dolls where not my "cup of tea" by that time but She was my first "petite", soon followed by a Brigitte Bardot
doll...
I was probably too young and to impatient to dedicate myself to doll making by that time.

In 2002, my penpal in Houston (Texas) sent me from USA a revue called DOLLS. We both share a love for dolls and the two of us were vintage Barbie and doll collectors.
Inside I discovered the amazing dolls of JULIE FISCHER.
That's what I wanted to do.
I stopped painting, stop drawing and began sculpting my first dolls almost immediatly !
Monsters I should better say. Funny, but horribly flat.
It took me time to create a "
good face".
I
n between I had emailed regularly with Julie Fischer. Sharing with her tons of pictures.
she never stopped encouraging me. That's how I came to writing to DOLLS magazine.
They have a "fresh face section", opened to any new "artist".
They published a small article on their november  2003 issue.
Next is now History : I have been contacted by wonderful people, Blackall Associates staff, Deborah Hellman (Hi Pam !)
Linda L the first one to buy me a OOAK doll and many other wonderful people around the
world.

OF SYLVIE FONT...
