| Keeping records is very important. You will place assignments in separate areas of the Daily Journal. I will collect and grade periodically as well as at the close of each quarter. Below are the requirements. |
| * The journal pages will be kept in a three hole report cover or 1" binder. * Student name, science class, and semester will be on the outside cover. * Papers will be arranged chronologically from front to back with the most recent pages in the back. | EXAMPLE Tuesday February 4, 1997 A dialog started as an aside from chemistry clas about the Kinetic Theory. Students were interested in exploring their ideas so an opportunity has been provided. It was agreed that we all have the same working definition of what "TIME" is. So we began with the text book definition and worked on it until everyone could accept the definition. The beginning definition from Merrill Chemistry 1993 "The interval between two occurances." Students agreed that "time"and "the measurement of time" are not the same thing. They were not comfortable with the word "two" as occurances were happening between the two times. All agreed that occurances was a important, but personal reference point was not necessary to the definition. After discussion the class agreed on the new definition, "the unlimited existance of occurances." |
