3rd Grade Computer/Technology Skills
Reflective Statement 1
For this
artifact I choose the Computer/Technology Skills standards as and
example of introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of
technology concepts. I choose to use the third grade computer
standards because I will be working in a third grade classroom.
In this section of the standard course of study I am able to provide my
students with technology skills that are on their level. By using
these goals and objectives not only am I providing my students with
technology information on their level I am providing them with
information that will help them in the future. The computer
and technology goals also go hand in hand with the other subjects'
goals
for
the third grade.
When using technology in my classroom these goals and
objectives provided by the state will influence me on how and what I
teach my students. When creating lessons I begin with the goal
and
objectives that I want to achieve through that lesson. These
technology goals and objectives are a major part of my planning
throughout every step. I feel that using these computer standards
is not only part of my job but part of my life because they are what I
need to share with my students.

Learn NC provides so many helpful resources for teachers. This
particular artifact takes North Carolina's standards and connects them
to resources from lesson plans to web sites. The artifact above
helps me make connections to introductory knowledge, skills and
understanding. When reading North Carolina's standards it is
helpful to have explanations of some of them so that I know I am
teaching what I need to be teaching. Through these resources I
can use ideas from other North Carolina teachers and spark my own
ideas. I feel that this is a reliable web site to find technology
information because it is created by the state for teachers.

Educational Technology Standards for Students
Reflective Statement 3
NETS provides so much information for teachers. I would use this
web site for a variety of reasons related to introductory knowledge,
skills and understanding of technology in the classroom. I like
that this web site has information for students and teachers.
Through this web site I can use the National Technology Standards along
with the North Carolina Technology Standards. I want my students
to leave my classroom knowing as much as possible about technology and
how they can use it in their education. By using this web site I
think that I can help my students become independent technology users.

Reflective Statement 1
This artifact is a web site about the North Carolina's Technology
Conference. Through this web site I can find out when the
conference is. The conference is a way to have continual growth
in technology. During my teaching career I want to attend such
conferences and workshops so that I can stay on top of all the current
and emerging technologies for my students. I feel that as a
teaching it is very important for be to be a constant learner so that
my students can receive the most current information so that they will
be prepared for what is ahead of them.

NC Wise Owl has provided a Media and Technology Zone for teachers to
stay up to date on different types of technology. This web page
has links to web sites, conferences, safety issues and much more.
Through this web page I can stay up to date on technology information
related to North Carolina and my students. I believe that this is
an artifact that I can refer to daily if I have questions about
something related to technology. I want to use this web page to
help me identify good web sites so that they have the most quality
information for my students. I also want to use this web page to
help teach my students the best technology practices. I believe
that this is a web site that will help me stay abreast of current and
emerging technology knowledge.

This document is a list of all the courses and operations that I have
had and know how to use related to technology. In the past I have
worked with technology in a variety of ways. Through my knowledge
of technology I believe that I am prepared to teach using
technology. Professional development is an on going
process. As technology changes I plan to change with it and add
items to my professional development list of accomplishments.
