Jami Lumpkin-Alexander
Miss Polk County 1982


    After graduating from LHS in 1982, Jami attended Tyler Junior College and Sam Houston State University.  She married Brent Alexander in 1989.  They have one daughter, Aubri Ann, who will be entering 4th grade at Pine Ridge Elementary this fall.  She is currently working on finishing her degree in History at Sam Houston State University and works as a substitue teacher in the Livingston Independent School District. 
     Jami is very active in the community and is involved in various organizations, having served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Polk County and serving as president of the Pine Cone Festival and the Pilot Club of Livingston.  She is currently serving as president of the Pine Ridge Elementary PTO for the second year.  She is involved in the Children's Ministry at Central Baptist Church, acting as the Children's Choir Coordinator.  Jami also had the privilege of serving on the committee for the City of Livingston's Centennial Celebration in October 2002. 
     Since moving back to Livingston in 1988, Jami has been involved in the Miss Polk County organization.  She has served as Executive Director for the past two years.  Jami says that she is very proud of what the organization has become and considers her work with the pageant each year a great opportunity to give back to the community.  In addition to her volunteer work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as enjoying some quiet time with a good book.
