Dear Missouri Region,
Greeting from the 2005 Phi Theta Kappa- Alphpa Psi Tau Relay For Life team.  On the evening of May 13th, over 200 Relay teams gathered at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Missouri.  Our campsite was decked out as a wedding chapel on the hill with a picture cutout of "Bubba and Sissy Mae" dressed in their wedding finery for pictures with our fellow Relayers.  However, it started to rain just as the relay got underway and continued to rain almost continuously through the night.  We did have a few brave couples that "tied the knot" in our hand fasting ceremony under the "chapel" tent despite the nasty weather.  It did stop raining for about 30 minutes during our Luminaria ceremony, which was very moving as usual.  The officials finally called the Relay in around 4 am because there was another bad storm forecast for around 5 am. So we all went home and caught a couple hours of sleep before we went back to tear down the campsite.  Of course, that morning the sun came out and it was gorgeous.
Despite the bad weather, our team raised $7300.00 for cancer research and advocate programs here in the Midwest region.  Our team won the "Best Campsite" award for the third year in a row.  We want to say thank you to each of our supporters and show you a few pictures of FUN??? we had.  We look forward to next year on may 19th and 20th, 2006 and hopr to have much better weather.
Sincerly,
2005 Phi Theta Kappa- Alpha Psi Tau Relay For Life team
