| Xi Epsilon Chapter: Laurie Steinmann VP of Communications recently let our Regional Officer Karen know the following information and wanted to share it with the rest of the region. "I organized a team called the Star Gazers for the Relay For Life team in St. Louis. It was held at Hazelwood Central High School. The dates were Friday August 6 and Saturday August 7. We had 30 members registered but 24 people came. They came from 3 different colleges: Florissant Valley, Forest Park, and Meramec. It was an exciting night. As of now, we raised $2,010.00. Vickie Woodside, the Relay For Life Coordinator will notify me of the exact amount by August 31, 2004. Our team also won an award. It was an engraved plexi glass prism given to the Team With the Most Spirit. It was alot of work but it was a special opportunity to meet members from the other colleges and work together on this project." Upsilon Xi Chapter: This chapter decided to hold a gargage sale, and found it to be a very successful. Here is some information sent in by their president. "This garage sale was mainly occupied by only people from the Upsilon Xi chapter. I believe some items were donated by Upsilon Kappa's Sarah Eiker. I wish to thank the advisors that spend part of the their weekend helping out. Other contributors such as Jose Vazquez, Patricia Minton, Marilyn Donatello, dean of student services, and Oleda Cooper of Platte City are greatly appreciated for their effort to make this possible. " Thank you Sean Willis President Phi Theta Kappa Upsilon Xi/Maplewoods Chapter Leadership Conference I was not able to attend the leadership conference, but those that did said they really enjoyed it, and sent along some really great pictures. I wish to extend special thanks to Chriss Nold for stepping in so beautifully for me at the conference!! Here are some pictures that were shared with me by Sheila Madonia. |
