We began with Jane Gabbard Becker, a personal friend, who introduced us to the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program. Jane was the third-runner-up to Miss Ohio in both 1991 and 1992. When she was past the age of competition, Jane prompted us to begin the Miss Stark County Pageant in 1994.
In 2007, we decided to change the name of our pageant to Miss North East Ohio, to encompass the greater area from which we can gain sponsorship and attract contestants.
Miss North East Ohio is one of many preliminaries to the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program, leading to Miss America. We are proud that this program provides outstanding young women the opportunity to showcase their talents while earning scholarships to further their education. Our program is open to young women throughout the entire state of Ohio.
