MISS TEEN MANITOBA FOR MISS TEEN CANADA INTL LEAVES FOR NATIONAL PAGEANT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Miss Teen Manitoba 2000 leaves for Miss Teen Canada International

Danielle Keenan, Manitobas representative at Miss Teen Canada International and MTCIs Miss Teen Manitoba, leaves for the national pageant on August 17, 2000. She leaves for a fun-filled week of touring of the Greater Toronto Area, sight-seeing, interviews and rehearsals. This is the second year that Danielle has competed in this prestigious event, and hopes to make Manitoba proud.

The Miss Teen Canada International pageant was established in 1998 due to the great demand from under-18 contestants. It is now in its third year, with lasts year winner Crystal Freake, having toured all over Canada, promoting herself and the MTCI pageant. Miss Teen Canada International is run in conjunction with the Miss Canada International pageant, the official preliminary to Miss World. This years Miss Canada International Mireille Eid, has traveled all over Canada, as well as the United States, Paris, Britain and London, England.

Danielle burst onto the pageant scene last year, when she was selected to represent Manitoba at the national level, as Miss Teen Manitoba. Since then, she has spent her reign doing charity and volunteer activities. She has been involved with such organizations as the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as well as promoting her own platform of Eating Disorders Awareness & Prevention. She has also continued to be involved with the Miss Teen Canada International organization, promoting both the reigning MCI and MTCI.

Danielle has since competed for other titles, including the Miss Teen Tourism Canada pageant, the official preliminary to Miss Teen Tourism World, where the winner has yet to be announced. She also won an online beauty pageant, which consisted of photographs and a written interview. She beat out two other girls, ironically both from Winnipeg, and one the reigning Pageantry Manitoba Teen Queen, for the title of Miss Teen Spring International. Hopefully this bodes well for the MTCI title.

Danielle will be leaving to compete for the national title on August 17, 2000 from Winnipeg International Airport. She will arrive at the airport at 4:30 p.m. for her 6:00 flight and invites well wishers to come by and see her off.

Flowers and words of encouragement can be sent to the Novotel Etobicoke, directed to Miss Teen Manitoba. The hotel will deliver them to the MTCI president and chaperones, which will see that she gets them. The pageant week is from August 18th until August 26th, with the pageant itself of August 25th. She thanks all Manitobans for their support and love, and wishes to do Manitoba proud. 1
