DANIELLE KEENAN NAMED MISS MODEL OF THE WORLD CANADA 2001

It is my honour to present to you, Miss Model of the World � Canada 2001, Danielle Keenan. Danielle grew up in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba but has moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Winnipeg. Danielle was selected Miss Model of the World � Canada 2001 after winning the Miss Teen Tourism Canada 2001 title. Danielle is not a novice when it comes to pageants as a former Miss Teen Manitoba and Manitoba�s representative at Miss Teen Canada International 2000 and 2001, where she was in the top 8 as well as received the scholastic award. Danielle is hoping to expand her portfolio and possibly work out of the country, and this title is a step in the right direction.

Danielle was to represent our great nation at the international Miss Model of the World finals this coming November in Turkey, however in light of the recent events will not be doing so at this time. Danielle will represent Canada at an international event to be determined at a later time.

Danielle will enjoy a full year�s reign promoting herself, the title, and the organization. She will travel around Canada and dedicate her year to charities. Her platform as Miss Teen Manitoba was Eating Disorders Awareness and Prevention, which she will continue to promote. Her focus, however, will shift to promoting positive self-esteem and the hazards of peer pressure. She will do so by speaking to students around the country. She will also be raising funds to travel to an international event, to be determined.
