MISS MILLION BEAUTY CONTEST Miss Million Beauty Contest is arranged by the biggest Village Shop in Finland, Veljekset Keskinen Oy (Brothers Keskinen Ltd.) and it's produced by CatWalker-tuotannot from Kuopio with Sari Mustonen as the head producer. Miss Million is totally new kind of beauty pageant in which the most succesfull competitor knows she will truly get the whole summ promised by the organiser for the year as Miss Million. The prize is one million FIM! The winner in question is going to have unique work year. During her year as Miss Million, which is actually lasts 13 months, the winner will represent at different occations arranged by the Village Shop or by firms and companies co-operating with the Shop. She will take part in sales and marketing work as well as visit different companies. She will have one challenging task after another. The contest organisers are looking for a Finnish lady to represent the whole year. A lady who is beautyfull both in the outside and in the inside and has values shared by all Finns. There are three different parts in each preliminary competition. Before the first part each competitor will be intervieved separately by the jury. The first part is a presentation where the contestant's are wearing Marimekko's glowing coloured spring clothers are introduced to the public. Then comes the second part where the competitors are wearing swimming suits by Triumpf, a lingerie company. This is when second interviev takes place this time before a live audience. The third and the last part of the pageant will show the ladies in gala dresses chosen by competitors themselves. The choice of an evening dress reveals the personality of each girl. Even the prizes of the preliminaries are in a class of their own. Along with traditional flowers and congratulations the winner and runner-ups get gift certificates donated by Lumene, a cosmetic company. The winner gets 3,000Fim of value, the firs runner-up 2,000Fim and the second runner-up 1,000Fim. Miss Million is a one year, year 2001, project with several preliminary competitions the amount of which depending on how many places of high level there is to be found in Finland. Right now there have been booked 16 preliminaries throughout our country. They are and will be arranged together with and by the side of other summer happenings. Three of the best ladies from each competition are chosen by the jyry to participate in semi-final from which ten to twenty beautyfull and suitable competitors will go to the final competition which will be arranged sometime during November or December this year.
