New-born scars

I look at him for the first time
and wonder
who marked
this new-born baby,
who gave him that blue scar on his cheek?
Somebody hurt him.
Sense tells me
it's impossible,
no sharp things
in his nine month's cradle.
My stomach squeezes
and I look closer,
his eye lashes make long shadows
to cover the vein.
