Current Events

The world of anatomy and physiology is a constantly changing place. New findings are released daily. While your textbook is a good source of general knowledge, you should try to keep up with new information as well. To push you towards this end, you will have current events articles due every two weeks.

Each due date, you will turn in a writeup of either one scientific (or other high-level) article, two newspaper (or other low-level) articles or one seminar. The topic should be related to anatomy or physiology, and should be relatively recent (within the last year).

The writeup should not be a summary of the article. It should be your reaction to the work. Things to possibly consider while reading an article are : was this necessary research? Will it help humans in the future, or is it just extraneous knowledge? What are the consequences of the research or finding? Are there ethical considerations?

Please don't just answer these questions as your writeup. Use them to direct your thinking about the article, and simply write your reaction.

You should also attach a copy of the article to your writeup. Each article (or set thereof) is worth 20 points.
