| I chose this specific issue because volunteerism is a big part of my life and is truly where my heart is. I began volunteering at only four years old and have since been involved in area Highway Cleanups, bake sales, cross country mission trips, Relay-For-Life fundraisers, and so much more! I try to encourage others to volunteer because I have realized that the true value of volunteerism. It has often been said that volunteerism serves not only the needy, but the volunteer as well. No statement could be more true. Not only can a volunteer help the person or organization they have served, but the volunteer can receive a great feeling when they realize just how they have affected another person or community. Are you interested in being a volunteer or starting a service in your area? Identify what your community, state, or country needs and then make a plan to fix the problem! If you need any help, I am always here, 24/7 .. [email protected] Katie Smart |
