| My grandmother passed away Saturday, February 26, 2000 of a stroke. She was 80 years of age. Grandma complained of a headache on Friday night and by Saturday night she was in Heaven seeing all of our beloved relatives once again. Our entire family was by her side in her final hours. We will miss her a great deal. She was my only grandma and acted as a second mom to me the majority of my life. She reminded me often of how much she cared for all of us and how she considered herself to be the luckiest lady on earth. I grew up next door to her and she taught me several fundamentals that I will carry with me always. I know she is looking down smiling on all of us and wishing only the best for our lives. She firmly believed in the afterlife and that she would see her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter once again. I hold fast to that belief as well and that brings me a lot of comfort. In the future I hope to publish more about her life and our family's history, as Grandma made a point of documenting everything that went on around her. I have a hard time writing this at this point, as things are still fresh in my mind, but as time goes by I would like for this to be my space to pay tribute to a lady that brought a wealth of love and empathy into my life. ~03/04/00 |

| My Grandpa Grandpa and I had the same birthday - so every year Mom would make us a cake and we'd have a little party. I'd always try to beat him in blowing out the candles. Grandpa died on July 4th, 1993 of a heart attack. I was 15 at the time. |
