COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN
Regularly Scheduled Monthly Meetings:
The State of Mississippi Commission on the Status of Women holds regular monthly meetings, which are open to the public in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.  At present, the Commission meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 P.M. (unless otherwise noted)  in the Woolfolk Building across from the State Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi.  Anyone wishing to address the Commission must submit a request to be placed on the agenda.

Public Hearings

The Commission is presently visiting communities across the state and holding public forums.  Information gathered at the hearings will be compiled into an annual report and will be most useful as the Commission further develops its agenda.  Persons concerned about women's issues are encouraged to attend. For further information, feel free to contact the Commission.
Future Hearings, 2002-2003:
Plans for a hearing in McComb have been placed on hold.  Please click here to express your wishes for a McComb hearing.

If you would like to propose a
hearing in your area, please
contact the Commission and we will consider your suggestion.
Jackson/Metro Area, Columbus, Greenville, and Gulf Coast, and
TANF forums:
