INTRODUCTION
Three Hopper Bros. William, Palmon, and Thomas was the sons of Lewis Hopper. They moved from the Carolina's and settled near Purdy, TN.
They traveled in a wagon band of leaving the Carolina's. Some of the names of the other travelers are: Waldon, Conners, Meeks, Tapps, Crooks and Blackwood. As they traveled, it was common that the children of these families married one another.
Thomas J. Hopper married Nancy Meeks on 1-13-1823 in Lincoln Co., TN. They later moved in 1837 on the Tippah and Alcorn line at Bridgecreek, which is now known as Hatchie.
These are copies of Thomas J. Hopper's FAMILY BIBLE, and there is still a big portion of the Hopper family still living in the same place that Thomas J. Hopper settled in 1837. The old homeplace is still standing near the Hopper Ceme.

Pictures were given to me by Mickey Hopper, who did a great deal of research on Our Families. I am directly related to Mickey... and he has huge amounts of information on the Hopper Families of Mississippi and Tennessee.
