Signs and wonders will always follow those who believe. Without a vision the people perish. That one word 'perish' is so familiar to many if not all Christians especially found in the well known John 3: 16. 'For God so loved the world that he sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not 'perish' etc; etc; etc; This word perish, in the Greek is apolumi and it means to die, be destroyed, lost...... This is not the plan of God to be apolumied. The word apolion comes from the same base meaning, and apolion is the destroyer who is Satan. Jesus said that none of us who come to him will be 'lost' it's the same word as 'perish' Apolumi. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2: 5 - 8 That it is by Grace we are 'Saved' It is the 'Gift' of God. The Bible also tells us in Romans 11: 29 that the 'Gifts' and 'callings' from God are irrevocable. That means they can never ever be reversed. Some versions say 'Without repentance' Repentance is a reversal of going ones own way and then turning to Gods' way. A reversal. So we see this wonderful miracle of the God who is able to save by His grace, and maintain the promise of His gift of Salvation so it's never taken from us. This is one very imortant sign, and a wonder to behold to all who have believed. John 3: 16 says it all, and sums it up so wonderfully that we can be assured of our Salvation. God saves to the uttermost. He cannot offer anything better because it is the very best.....the uttermost....the maximum....completely and entirely. If it were possible to loose this gift of Salvation, it would not be a complete gift. The Greek word for uttermost is:- pantelace. It's in Hebrews 7: 25. Read it.. |
