The Letter
It's his fault.  How could you look past the real him?  Treated him like you did, but it's only like you.  You allowed him in your life, every day, offered him breakfast with you, in your robe.  That one I like, the pink on with the tiny red roses.  He wasn't a real bum, you know.  He just pretended to be, to be close to you.  He lived in a small apartment a few blocks away.  He had a job, selling for some small chain store.  Sure, it wasn't much, but he made enough to buy his own breakfast anyway.  But how could a person like you be so stupid?  Oh God, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it; you're beautiful and perfect in every way, you know that.

I remember that day he first showed up in your life.  It was the Burger King down the street.  He was short change, and you gave him some money.  It's your compassion that makes you so attractive.  Why did you give him that money?  It ruined everything we had, everything went downhill from there.  When he came into our lives, he took your time away from me.  I now he won't be a problem anymore, I took care of that, and he's gone, but why?  Didn't you know what another man would do to us, especially a man like him? People like that are dangerous.  Why didn't you do something?  Tell somone after the first time he touched you.

Those direct types can be dangerous.  I never would have jurt you, I promise I wouldn't have.  But you had to hate me.  I don't lnow why.  I never did anything to you.  I just loved you, cared for you the way a man should.  I watched over you and protected you.  Remember when I got in a fight with your date when he got to insisting on coming inside?  I did that to protect you, for you!!  It's always been for you, all for you, always.

And now you're gone.  I still wathc your place.  It was empty for awhile.  A young couple moved in a few weeks agao.  I can't say I like them much, they don't have a very neat schedule.  Not like yours.  You had that schedule, and you kept to it if it meant only sleeping for ten minutes.  Breakfast at 6:35, every morning, not a moment sooner or later.  Home at 4:30, you refused to work until 5:00 like everyone else.  I set my watch by you once, just so that if I ever talked to you I could tease you about it.  "I set my watch by you once," I would say.  "Oh, did you?" you'd reply with a pretty little laugh, smiling at me with your full lips, shifting your left arm to better hold your purse upon your shoulder.  I think they miss you at the firm.  No one wants the charity cases anymore.  I think they're all scared they'll end up like you.

But it's all over now.
I'll see you soon, my beautiful Denna

Your love,

Tyson
