Sometimes they just kickass.
Every now and then, you'll come across a band that just totally tears it up. Mission66 was definately one of those. They were kind of a strange style of music to be opening up for a hardcore death die murder kill band like Crowbar, and I thought they would get booed or something, because that's the initial attitude people seemed to have. But Mission66 slowly but surely won the crowd over; the singer was a SINGER. He could sing, and with very high intensity. They had tons of energy on stage. They sounded excellent. They got the first good pit of the night going. The singer got hit in the forehead with a guitar neck, and cut very badly; he was bleeding all down his face, but didn't miss a note; a stagehand gave him a towel to mop up the blood, and did just that and kept right on singing. One of those "never forget that" moments. They just kicked ass. |
