Chapter 4:

Talks, walks and memories remembered.

He stood before the large beige stone house questioning what he was doing here. He knew the reason, but couldn’t shake that feeling of sadness either. He paws clicked slowly on the circular cemented driveway. He walked up the stone steps, stood up on his back paws and pressed his nose to the bell beside the double oak doors. A few moments later the door opened and a man Sirius recognized open the door. The tall man with wavy brown hair and gentle blue eyes looked down and smiled at him before opening the door wider to let him in. Sirius walked into the foyer and looked around curiously.

“Carol and Mione are gone, go ahead and change, it’s safe.” Mark Granger said in a low deep voice.  With a pop the large shaggy dog had vanished and in his place was a tall slender man with heavy lidded gray eyes, long black hair, and a wiry body. He was dressed in a white button down shirt and black pants, and Black cloak all somewhat dirty, but in good shape.

“My god I thought you were dead…No wonder Albus sent me here…This can’t be a dream…what happened.” Sirius asked in an incredulous voice as he stared at the friend he saw hadn’t seen in over 14 years and whom he had assumed was dead.”

“Long story, but first you need to know Mione doesn’t know, She thinks she’s a Muggle born Sirius…and you can’t tell her otherwise…We’ve lived this life for over 14 years and it needs to be kept that way. You can thank a certain blond haired witch for saving mine, Carols, and Mione’s lives. As we’d all ready been dead if it hadn’t been for her and Albus. So he sent you here. That’s fine like I said Mione doesn’t know about use. She doesn’t know Em and Ron being magicals and doesn’t know Remmie is her uncle’s brother. As far as everyone is concerned She just a very clever Muggle born witch and well leave it at that. In a couple of years, Albus thought he’d sent her to Celestial training. Remmie told me about what happened at the shack. So what’s happening can we get Fudge involved.” Mark asked as he led Sirius to a large room on the right side of the Foyer, filled with wall to wall books and several large tables, chairs and couches and a fireplace across from the door, He assumed it was the library.  He sat down in one of the chairs closest to the fire. Mark sat across from him pouring drinks from bottle that was on the low table in between the two.

“Fudge are you kidding me…the only way Fudge would believe me would be if someone told him Nia would give him a lap dance…then maybe, But as his ex-wife refuses even to acknowledge magic I’d say were shit out of luck. Hermione doesn’t know any of this…Anyway no plan as of yet. Dumbledore told me to stay here for the summer as He said the Grangers were very supportive of their daughter and her friends and they would graciously accept me as a houseguest. He said Hermione was leaving at the end of the summer to the Quidditch Cup and that and that under no circumstances was Harry to know where I’m staying. That I’d most likely find something interesting things at the Grangers and that I should stay till he thinks it’s nessasary for me to be closer to Harry. So tell me what’s going on with you and Carol?” Sirius asked in a calm voice.

“For the next two hours the Men talked about what they had been doing. When the Women arrived home it was as if nothing had happened

She was nervous. He could see it in her eyes. He held her hand lightly and gave it a gentle squeeze before walking into the house. He put the suitcase down by the door and gripped his wand tightly in his left hand. She held her in her right as they walked into the foyer. He looked around the room, the circular stair case that lead to a land that went both left and right. On the left was a large archway that led to a living room on the right a dining room. steps leading to down to both. The hall past stairs had one doorway on the left and one on the right and another arch way that lead to what looked like the kitchen. The small tables were old antiques. The pictures that lined the walls of a young curly headed girl went from birth till last year, the changes obvious. It was when they walked into the kitchen Hermione got a surprise. Draco had been prepared for something like this even worse. He kept his face blank. He let her hand go as if saying good bye for forever.
