!*~News On Hayden!*~

Hayden Christensen's career could fall apart by 2004, and he'd still make our list because the Force is with him.

As the next Anakin Skywalker (and future Darth Vader) in Star Wars Episode II and III, the Toronto-based actor earned teen-hottie status and secured himself a place in sci-fi history when he was handpicked by George Lucas over more than 400 hopefuls (including Leonardo DiCaprio).

"I couldn't really come to terms with why he chose me, other than the fact that I look like the kid," Christensen, 20, says. "You just have to focus on the work and trust that he knew what he was doing. I recognize that it's a big deal, and there is a constant pressure that I won't live up to the expectation."

To avoid Mark Hamill-style stereotyping, the blue-eyed, clean-cut, big-grinned Christensen took on a darker role as Kevin Kline's estranged son in Life as a House immediately after filming Episode II--Attack of the Clones. To get into drug-addled character, Christensen dyed his blond hair black, painted his fingernails, wore blue eye shadow and shed 25 pounds on a water-vitamins-salad diet. The risk earned him a Golden Globes Best Supporting Actor nomination.

Considering his passion for the arts, it's hard to imagine Christensen once dreamed of playing professional hockey and (instead of wielding a light saber) developed his backhand well enough to score a college tennis scholarship. When he tagged along with his sister to meet with an agent, they were both signed, and he popped up in features like In The Mouth of Madness, Strike! and The Virgin Suicides.

But Christensen really started to get attention when he landed a regular role on the Fox series Higher Ground.

Two years later, he still hasn't come to terms with impending fame. After much resistance, he recently got an L.A. apartment and started a production company with his brother Tove. "People keep trying to prepare me for what's ahead, and I try to take it as it comes and be cool." --Carrie Bell

HAYDEN IS UP FOR A GOLDEN GLOBE!! Congratulations to him...

Supporting actor nominees were Jim Broadbent of Iris, Steve Buscemi of Ghost World, *Hayden Christensen of Life as a House*, Ben Kingsley of Sexy Beast, Jude Law of A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Jon Voight of Ali. Christensen said he was thrilled to have his name alongside such seasoned performers, but he had doubts about his prospects. "My money's on Ben Kingsley," he joked. "I remember watching his performance and thinking, 'He's got the Oscar and everything right there.'"

Also if you are an *NSYNC fan here's an article: Now that they've taken over planet Earth, 'NSYNC are prepared to blow up in a galaxy far, far away.

A few of the 'NSYNC guys will appear in "Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones," according to a spokesperson from Lucasfilm.

The spokesperson didn't know specifically which members have cameos in the movie, which will be the fifth "Star Wars" release from creator George Lucas. The guys will be seen for a fleeting moment in a "big scene with lots of extras."

The roles materialized after the group members, who are all fans of the sci-fi saga, asked the new film's producer, Rick McCallum, for bit parts.

"Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones," which stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen, hits theaters May 16.

There is a rumor that I got from a Hayden web site that NBC might take over the show 'Higher Ground.' She says, "I think that will happen when 'Star Wars' comes out because he'll be more famous than he is now so the ratings would be good for it on NBC."

Not much news on Hayden right now, just that as you all know he has been picked to be Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II and III.

Also he stars in the new movie "Life As A House" as Sam.

My Review Of "Life As A House." I highly recommend you go see this movie. Hayden is wonderful in it, and he looks gorgeous. The end is a tear jerker (especially when Hayden cries thats what got me). This movie was so good (in my opinion) I went back to see it a second time!(11/21/01) Missi & Reese give it 2 thumbs up!
