Reflection:
Technology is a
wonderful resource for both teachers and students. My students
can benefit greatly from looking up unanswered questions online,
learning to use spreadsheets, and creating computer generated
graphs. However, technology does not come without a price.
We must teach students how to properly handle the often expensive
equipment, and most importantly, we must ensure that our students are
using the internet in a safe manner. Children must be taught how
to use technology safely through mini-lessons and teacher
modeling. The contract shared above will serve as a guide for my
students before they learn to be savvy internet users. Internet
use should always be monitored by teachers or other adults while the
students are at school, regardless of the age of the child.
