Reflective Statement:
It is important to continually renew
and expand my technology knowledge base for many reasons. First,
as a teacher, I am expected to prepare my students to be active
contributers to society. In order to work in almost any
environment, my students will need fairly advanced computing skills, in
addition to a basic working knowledge of many other types of
technology. As new products are being introduced into homes and
offices, I should also be introducing new products to my
students. The second reason I believe it is imperative to stay
abreast of technology is that technology can be a great asset in a
classroom. For instance, Mrs. Brown received an ActivBoard last
spring. We both attended the training workshop and were amazed at
just how much the ActivBoard can do. Over the course of my
teaching career I can expect that many new technologies will be
introduced and incorporated into schools. It is logical to assume
that I must continually learn and grow in this area in order to be the
best teacher that I can.
