IV. Assessment and Evaluation

A. Apply technology in assessing student learning of subject matter using a variety of assessment techniques.

Evidence:
Students were asked to fill in a pre-created PowerPoint Presentation about the Human Skeleton.

Reflective Statement:
I believe it is important to provide children with a variety of instructional materials.  This PowerPoint serves several purposes.  First, it allows me to assess how much the children know about a subject prior to the unit.  It also provides an opportunity for students to view these presentations as  something that they themselves can create.  This presentation is designed to require student input.  By allowing the children to come forth and fill in responses, they quickly learn the fundamentals of creating a PowerPoint.  I ask many questions to assess their knowledge prior to the lesson, but I also have created a final page that I will expect each child to fill in individually.  This will help me easily judge where we have come from, and where we are now. It also provides my students with an opportunity to share their knowledge in a fun, yet professional way.
