Reflection:
Technology is a great means of communication between all "groups" of
people: teacher-parent, student-student, and teacher-community.
At Cartoogechaye Elementary, many teachers have websites that serve as
information sites for parents and students. E-mail is the main
method of interaction between many teachers and parents, and if that
doesn't work, most phone numbers can be easily found online. I
have a class website that I hope to have the students update and
develop. I also shared the instructions for creating Wonder-Web
tagboards. I participated in one of these during my Computers in
Education class. Basically, the Wonder-Web is a great place for
any question. Other students can then answer that question from
experience or research. The Wonder-Web grows with questions,
answers, and some interesting observations. It encourages
students to become answer seekers, as well as question askers. It
also helps children to understand that adults are not the only ones
with answers!
